I think in terms of Elders. False Shepherds are conflict avoidant, afraid to bring things to light because it might make things appear "bad". True Shepherds confront the beasts in whatever form they are, revealing them so the flock might be protected.
False modesty is pride wearing a costume. When any ministry no matter how good becomes an idol. it is destructive.
