Mary,

May God continue to use "you" for His glory! I am crying because this is the first thing I saw and it has spoken volumes to "me" my "heart", and "my life story" (there are many similarities) Thank you for being a blessing in my life, in this area, at this time, in this season and moving forward! I am forever grateful. You're strength, and courage allows me to know that I can do the same and that "healing" is possible for me too.

Yes, sometimes our trauma can tenderize our hearts and God can use our humility to show He is the God of all comfort.

Your story is truly faith-building. You shared so many memorable lines especially “God takes us on quests not day hikes.” We can easily give up out of impatience. I read your memoir and the abuse you endured was heartbreaking. It’s inspiring to read your work now and see the woman you’ve become. Thank you for generously sharing your story.

Yes. It is. I won't share my whole story on your page. But I have a life full of trauma and grief. Just when I think that it's in the past, this past year has shown me that it is not. Healing is a lifelong journey I am finding. One that I am grateful for.

I often say, I wouldn't wish my life on anyone, but I am deeply, deeply, grateful for it. For it has taught me God, taught me Love, in ways that I couldn't even begin to explain.

More than anything, it has allowed me to see people, to connect with them. It has allowed people to see me, connect to me. This world is suffering, even some may try to pretend otherwise. Sharing it with one another, being able to look at one another and just 'know', is very intimate. Hurt has that ability, and running away from, hiding it, putting up walls, etc., keeps us from ever having this experience. We were built for connection; this is why I am grateful for my trauma.

I agree with the idea that it helps us alleviate the suffering of others.

I love your quote from C.S. Lewis to let your past sleep on the bosom of Christ. Yes!

Thank you for sharing your story. I am not an abuse victim but I volunteered in an organization in Houston that sought to help teen girls rescued from trafficking. Their stories are heartbreaking. Some never could overcome their trauma others are still trying hard. It is so important to share the stories so others can hopefully heal. Thank you for being brave and trusting your readers with your story
